Too long since I have been on this computer. The Mrs. has been out of town and all "eggs" turned loose here!!! Rain, Rain and more rain. ...but before I get into this I must tell you about the visits to our little "henny community!" Several weeks ago the Mrs. daughter and the boy scout troop 188 came to visit...would you believe they had the nerve to see us "girls"...then turn around and eat CHICKEN!!! Yes, the Mrs. fried some of our unlucky cousins for dinner. I think they were on the Perdue side of the family!!! Those Tyson people on one side are pretty fancy chickens so the Mrs. watches her money and bought what was on sale and Perdue won! Well, those scouts in Garrett's troop asked so many questions that it liked to driven me crazy not speaking about Princess and Sadie running around pecking at those kids badges!!! They really wanted to see what badges they had earned and no one paid a bit of attention to us but to see what we could produce for the day. Each one of them got a couple of our products for the day....that left the Mrs. with a few less eggs to give to her friends. The boys were happy and can you believe it that the scout master even asked "Where is the rooster"? Well, I just clucked up and told him that we didn't have to have a 'cock" to make us work around here!!!Those eggs taste better without that going on!!! Well that is enough about that. We enjoyed the boys and their dads and they enjoyed our Perdue cousins!!!
Back to the weather here in Franklin...it's rained for two days and where in the world was the Mrs. and the Mr...when we needed them the most. Our feather, feet and even our pen got wet...it's acutally stinks with the rain and the poop mixed. Wait till the Mrs. gets home and she will have to clean our pen and put new bedding in. The Mrs has a great friend who takes care of us when she's away...we pay her in eggs...well, actually we pay Ev in eggs!! He gets to watch us lay if he catches us just in the nick of time....
One more visit to tell about. Our friend Tommy and Sandi brought their grandson, Sam to see us. We are really getting popular with the friends and family around here. I decided to make a joyful noise when we saw Sam and sang one of my new songs for them. "Nine to Five" is the new one I have learned! They just clucked and clucked at my performance plus got a couple of eggs! This is not making sense...we lay the eggs and they walk off with them..shouldn't it be that they pay us instead of us pay them!
Gotta go roost...it's getting late and the other girls are getting ready to take over my spot in the hen house. They like to do that when I am the last one in..then I have to sit in the nest...isn't that too bad!!!
Thought for the day: Keep your feet above water!!
