It's been too long since I have written anything about my adventures in my hen house....so here goes. The Mrs. has been out here pretty much 3 times each day every day but Wed. Maybe she thinks I am going to lay!!! Well I try. Actually she has written a little book about my adventures and it will be posted soon on this blog so you can know where I have been and where I am going...I hope not the "pot". Well, since I am named Dolly I must be able to really sing. That is what the Mrs. tells me. For the last two days I see The Mrs. coming and I immediately go into the pen throught the "IN" door bc I now know how to read. I then look around to be sure she is looking and jump into the nesting box and scratch a bit. You know, I saw one of the other hens, nesting and after the Mrs. gave us some shelled sunflower seeds she went over and gave the nesting girl some.....so I figured that if I got up there and pretended the Mrs. would give me some and guess what!!! She did!!! I tried it for two days now and it is working!!! Getting back to the singing business, when I got into the nest I began my vocalizing which is a low coo and then it begins to increase in volume until I feel that I have done enough. I do wish I had a recording for my fans to enjoy. Maybe the Mrs. will do that someday. Out of the 9 other girls that occupy
my palace I am the only one that actually sings. All of the girls try, but then they tell me that I am the best!!! I believe them. The other girls can lay all the eggs they want, but I can't wait for the Grand Ole Opry to include me on their agenda!

Well enough of that stuff about me. The other girls needs some strokes now. I have never seen the Mrs. leave the henhouse with her basket full until Monday and she counted them as she went past our pen...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9!!! Wow, those girls really produced that day.

I can't tell you enough how moi and the girls appreciate the work done by the Mrs. grandson, Logan! It was a beautiful day and we were all wishing to be out of the pen and then Logan showed up!!! He let us out, cleaned our pen, put new bedding in and then I just waddled in there to see what he had done and it was great!!! Of course I was anxious for him to finish because I love looking at my gallery of paintings on the wall. When the Mrs. figures out how to post them on my blog I will send some of the pictures that have been taken. You ought to see the ones of the other grandkids...they are eggcellent!!! Being I am the only "black sheep" in the group, I stand out a lot so there are several of me! Tonite it's really cold and I'm in my feather bed as well as Mary in hers. We get in there early so the other girls don't have a chance...they just sit on their roost and cuddle close together while Mary and I are nice and cozy in the feather beds!!....
The Mrs. and her family sure have given us a eggtra special place to cluck-out!
Thought for the day: Try and try again until you cannot try anymore!!! Moi Motto!
