Oh, my, even if it's winter these girls produce...I have 3 doz eggs that I will give away tomorrow!!
I actually saw a two hens lay!!! Interesting to me since I had never seen that before. They sat and sat, squaked and squaker (I think they call the kackle) and then they stood up and "plop" that egg came out right between her legs...not at all where I had expected it to come. To make sure that I saw it right, I waited for the next hen to finish laying and she did the same thing!!! I know it was a relief for them, they looked like it!!! We got 8 eggs yesterday and 6 today!!! We really don't eat that many, but it's fun to put them in the cartons and give them away!!! My better half says every egg they lay the costs of the eggs go down...after all it's the Ritz-Chickenton and it cost to build these days!!! Wish I had put a potty in there for them. My son told me to put concrete floor with a drain! Oh, well.
More to come about the person in charge in that hen house!!!

the Ritz-Chickenton today's happenings
Today was a pretty quiet day for the "girls"...except for "Mary" who apparently wanted more than her share of bread scraps and took a good peck at GT's finger while "Minnie" was in a hurry to "lay" and flew to my better half while he was "scooping poop". Scared him to death!
I told you they didn't like the other gender in their hen house...well after all that they only produced two eggs today but made up with 5 yesterday. They probably missed Mio while I was in Atlanta!!!
Tip for the day: Throw all the bread crumbs into the pen at a time instead putting a piece at a time through the wire! They are like one of our latest generations and don't like to wait.

The first day of blogging!
Today, the Ritz-Chickenton is housing 10 fine feathered hens..no roosters allowed with these girls. Except my better half had to feed them today with Gt and clean up their poop! we will see how the outcome is... did the birds get fed and then poop up or is it still staying or frozen there!
Chicken tip of the day: dont feed your hens pellets.. feed them crumbles!
